Steve Salom, former Uber Executive, is joining ACE & Company, a leading global private equity and venture capital firm, as a Partner to co-run its Venture Capital arm and launch its newest €150 million fund. ACE Swiss Tech Outliers aims to advance the promising Swiss Tech ecosystem and diaspora across the globe. In 2014, Steve launched and built Uber in Western Switzerland, after which he became General Manager for France, Switzerland, and Austria until the end of 2020. During his tenure, he built, scaled, and led a 200-people team and what became one of Uber’s largest and best-performing businesses globally. Since then, Steve has been an advisor to investors, startups, scale-ups, and Tech executives.
“Steve brings deep operator know–how to not only identify the very best entrepreneurs and startups but also help and support them for the long run. He hired hundreds of people and knows what “great” looks like while also having a deep understanding of the complexity that comes with growth and building a business,” says Charles Lorenceau, Founding Partner.
“I’m thrilled to join ACE and to help drive growth in Switzerland’s vibrant tech ecosystem. With our new fund, ACE Swiss Tech Outliers, we’re committed to supporting outstanding entrepreneurs in Switzerland and the Swiss Tech diaspora and backing the next generation of technology leaders,” says Steve Salom.
